Wearable technology has been a hot topic for many months, and Google Glass has dominated the conversations. The adoption of Glass or 4K technology has yet to take hold among consumers, but both are steadily growing.

Now, using a World Cup superstar to pioneer its uses, Panasonic is tapping into the market.

Let's take a look at the Panasonic A500 and how it can be used.

Neymar, the World Cup and the Panasonic 4K Camera

The launch of Panasonic's HX-A500 Wearable 4K video camera occurred on the verge of the World Cup, and the company very appropriately teamed up with Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar da Silva Santos Junior (aka Neymar Jr.) to promote the new device.

The superstar is having a magnificent tournament, and how cool would it be to see his prowess on the pitch from his point of view?

Panasonic's 4K wearable camera puts the viewer in the thick of the action without being a hindrance to the recorder. Like Google Glass, the camera is small and lightweight, and the user can seamlessly upload and share their videos via a smartphone or tablet.

Unlike Glass, Panasonic's HX-A500 enables you to capture the action in the "heightened realism of 4K technology" crystal-clearly both visually and audibly.

How Can Panasonic's 4K Camera Be Used?

Remember when we mentioned a wearable camera's use in a restaurant setting?

Or how about when the National Basketball League's Sacramento Kings placed wearable cameras on some players during pre-game warm-ups?

Or that the National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles plan to outfit cheerleaders with the devices this upcoming season?

I believe initiatives surrounding wearable cameras will continue to grow and expand throughout 2014.

Other Uses for Wearable Cameras?

Wearable cameras may have the biggest growth of the emerging wearable technology sector.

What are some uses for companies to add value to fans and consumers through the use of these cameras?
