Once again it is time to bid farewell to an excellent blogger for nateriggs.com. Sarah Robles has established herself quite well and we are sad to see her go. Before she departs, we caught up with her for a quick Q&A in this goodbye blog post
1. How did you start writing for NR Media Group?
I got started writing for NRMG after taking a Content Marketing class with Nate Riggs in the fall of 2013. I realized how interesting the subject was and wanted the opportunity to learn more!
2. How do you think this experience has helped your career?
Writing weekly posts has given me the chance to learn about so many new things, such as social media marketing tools and current trends. It’s given me a background in something not everyone is familiar with, which makes me more marketable for future jobs. And it has definitely helped me understand the big picture of how truly effective content marketing strategies can help companies soar above the competition.
3. What are your plans after NR Media Group?
In mid-July, I start a full-time job working for Ernst & Young in Columbus, OH. I’ll be working in the IT Risk & Assurance practice.
4. What's your dream career?
My dream career is still being formed in my mind. I’ve tried my hand in a wide variety of work and volunteer opportunities, and I’m paying attention to what speaks to me most. My end goal has always been to end up in a job that fulfills my passions, makes me happy and allows me to make a difference.
5. What was your favorite post?
I loved the topics I was able to write about for NRMG. One of my favorites was the Ideal Content Marketing Manager post because I had the chance to translate text into images with my own infographic. I also enjoyed writing about Listly, because not only is it a great site, but Nick Kellet was also really great to interview.
6. Any advice for other interested in content marketing?
I’d say to keep an open mind and start exploring. Check out CM news sites and look for the ways that companies are leveraging CM techniques in everyday life. In terms of improving organizational strategy, I’d say to research best practices and then try them out, keep track of what works and what doesn’t, and adopt models of continuous improvement.
